Motorcyclist Dies After Being Struck by Bus on East-West Highway in Sarlahi

Sarlahi. A motorcyclist died after being hit by a bus on the East-West Highway at Bagbani, Lalbandi Municipality-1.

The accident occurred when a bus with license plate LuP 03-001K 0430, traveling from Biratnagar towards Kathmandu, struck a motorcycle with license plate Pr2-03-015P 3396, which was heading in the same direction on Saturday evening, informed District Police Office Spokesperson Saroj Rai.

The motorcyclist, 35-year-old Sunil Mahato, originally from Chhapakaiya, Birgunj Metropolitan City-1, Parsa district, and currently residing in Lalbandi-1, Nawalpur, Sarlahi, was critically injured in the accident. Police Deputy Superintendent Rai stated that the injured Mahato was immediately sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa for treatment via ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries at 9:00 PM on Saturday night. The police have taken the involved bus and its driver, 34-year-old Ganesh Basnet, a resident of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Dang district, into custody at the Area Police Office, Lalbandi.
