CPN-UML General Secretary Warns of Hardship for Nepali Workers Abroad Amid Gulf Conflict

Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel stated that Nepali workers employed in the Gulf region are living in fear due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Furthermore, he noted that the potential shortage of oil and gas, coupled with rising inflation, indicates that the entire market system will be affected, making life even more difficult for the general public.

Writing on the social media platform Facebook, Pokhrel mentioned that maintaining patience and restraint is extremely necessary for Nepali society during such a sensitive time.

'Additionally, the government that is about to be formed must start concrete planning and preparation to mitigate the potential impact,' said General Secretary Pokhrel, 'Otherwise, this crisis will not be limited only to an economic or humanitarian crisis; it could also invite geopolitical tensions in the future. Let us be serious, let us be vigilant.'
