Contempt of Court Case Filed Against CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet

Kathmandu. A contempt of court case has been filed against CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet. The case was filed alleging that he made statements targeting Supreme Court justices regarding the ongoing case concerning the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Advocate Laban Neupane filed the contempt case against Basnet at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The case was filed arguing that Basnet's remarks targeting Supreme Court justices concerning the issue of the dissolved House of Representatives' reinstatement amounted to contempt of court. The hearing for this case has been scheduled for Chaitra 1.
