Rabi Lamichhane's Rastriya Swatantra Party Surpasses 1 Million Votes in Proportional Representation Count

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) led by Rabi Lamichhane, which is aggressively winning seats in the House of Representatives election 2082 through the first-past-the-post system, has also crossed 1 million votes in the proportional representation (PR) category.

According to the latest statistics, with a total of 1,945,155 votes counted, the RSP has secured more than 50 percent of the votes.

The RSP maintains its lead by obtaining 1,009,829 votes. The Nepali Congress, chaired by Gagan Kumar Thapa, has so far received 330,532 votes, accounting for 16.99 percent. Similarly, CPN-UML led by KP Sharma Oli is in third place with 263,408 votes, which is 13.54 percent of the total votes counted.

The Communist Party of Nepal led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has received 194,698 proportional representation votes.

The CPN crossed the threshold by securing 5.92 percent of the counted votes.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) led by Rajendra Lingden has received 71,937 proportional representation votes, which is 3.71 percent of the votes counted so far. The RPP has just barely crossed the threshold. The Shram Sanskriti Party received 42,188 votes, securing 2.17 percent of the counted votes, but it has failed to cross the threshold.
