CPN-UML Secures Five Seats as Vote Counting Continues for House of Representatives Election 2082

Kathmandu. As the counting of votes for the House of Representatives Election 2082 continues, the CPN (UML) has secured victories in five constituencies across the country so far. The UML registered significant wins in the Madhes, Sudurpaschim, and hilly districts. The five candidates elected so far from the UML are Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai, Ain Bahadur Mahar, Kshitij Thebe, Rajendra Kumar Rai, and Laxmi Prasad Pokharel.

Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai was victorious in Banke Constituency No. 2. He won by securing 24,628 votes. His closest competitor, Vivek Kumar Shrestha of the RSP, received 18,581 votes, and Sudhans Koirala of the Nepali Congress received 17,590 votes.

Similarly, Ain Bahadur Mahar was elected from Bajhang in Sudurpaschim. Mahar won with 18,543 votes. His closest competitor, Nepali Congress Co-General Secretary Prakash Rasaili ‘Snehi’, received 16,304 votes.

The third candidate elected from the UML is Kshitij Thebe. Thebe, who contested from Taplejung, won with 13,962 votes. He defeated Gajendra Prasad Tumyahang of the Nepali Congress by a margin of 2,251 votes.

Furthermore, Rajendra Kumar Rai was elected from Dhankuta Constituency No. 1. Rai secured 30,101 votes, while his main competitor, Sunil Bahadur Thapa of the Nepali Congress, garnered 28,704 votes.

Laxmi Prasad Pokharel is the fifth candidate elected from the UML. Pokharel was elected from Dailekh Constituency No. 2 with 13,889 votes. His closest competitor, Dikpal Kumar Shahi of the Nepali Congress, received only 6,797 votes.
