Nepali Congress Leader Pradeep Poudel Concedes Defeat, Congratulates Independent Party's Samik Pokharel in Kathmandu-5

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel congratulated Samik Pokharel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, who defeated him.

Pokharel was elected after defeating Poudel in Kathmandu-5.

Pokharel was elected securing 30,737 votes, while his closest competitor Poudel received 9,159 votes.

On Saturday morning, Poudel wrote on social media platform Facebook that despite his defeat, he will stand by the people of Kathmandu-5 in their joys and sorrows. Poudel wrote, 'Heartfelt congratulations to Samik Pokharel ji on being elected as the Member of Parliament from Kathmandu-5. I am grateful to all of you who voted for and supported me on this journey. I will continue to stand with you in your joys and sorrows.'

He thanked everyone who participated in the democratic process.
