Independent Winner Mahabir Pun Urges Supporters Against Victory Procession, Calls for Unity in Magdhi Development

Mahabir Pun, who won the election as an independent candidate from Magdhi, has stated that there is no need to hold a victory procession that would humiliate the defeated competitors.

He wrote on social media: 'No one should spend money or time to come to Beni for a victory procession. Because holding a victory procession is not the way to humiliate those who lost the election. In the coming days, we must work together with the opposition for the development of Magdhi. And I absolutely do not like ostentatious things like slogans, processions, feasts, and celebrations. If you wish to celebrate my victory, please do so in your own villages.'

In Magdhi, which has only one constituency, independent candidate Pun won by securing three times more votes than the CPN-UML candidate Harikrishna Shrestha.

Pun won by securing 22,850 votes, while his rival Harikrishna Shrestha received 7,919 votes. Karna Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress received 6,676 votes. Arjun Thapa of the Communist Party of Nepal received 3,529 votes.
