Vote Counting Delayed in Gorkha Constituency 1 Due to Adverse Weather

Gorkha. Vote counting in Gorkha Constituency Number 1 has not yet begun due to delays in collecting ballot boxes caused by adverse weather conditions. The counting process has been halted because ballot boxes from 16 polling stations located in the remote northern areas of Gorkha could not be transported.

Helicopter flights were not possible in those areas on Friday due to bad weather. There is a compulsion to rely solely on helicopters to transport ballot boxes from areas like Chumanubri, which suffer from geographical remoteness and lack of road network access.

The Office of the Election Officer stated that efforts are underway since early Saturday morning to bring the remaining ballot boxes to the district headquarters via helicopter, and counting will commence immediately after all ballot boxes arrive, following an all-party meeting.
