Helicopter Carrying Ballot Boxes from Gorkha Makes Emergency Landing in Pokhara Due to Bad Weather

Pokhara. A helicopter carrying ballot boxes from the northern region of Gorkha made an emergency landing in Pokhara due to adverse weather conditions. The Nepal Army helicopter, which was transporting ballot boxes from the Samdo and Khangsara polling stations in Chumanubri Rural Municipality-1, landed in Pokhara.

The District Police Office, Gorkha, stated that the helicopter came to Pokhara after failing to land in the Gorkha headquarters due to bad weather. However, the helicopter has since returned to Gorkha. Ballot boxes from 7 out of the 23 polling stations in northern Gorkha have been transported in the first batch.

Police Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajkumar Shrestha informed that the weather turned bad while transporting the remaining ballot boxes. He said, 'Ballot boxes from 16 centers are still remaining. The weather was bad today. Transportation will happen tomorrow.'
