Authorities Tighten Rules After Candidates Attempt to Influence Voters at Polling Stations in Nawalparasi

Nawalparasi. Following activities by candidates aimed at influencing voters at polling centers for the House of Representatives Election 2082 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), the administration has intensified enforcement. After complaints arose that candidates themselves entered some centers in Constituencies 1 and 2 of the district to greet voters, shake hands, and attempt to influence them, the District Administration Office issued strict directives against such actions.

Assistant Chief District Officer and Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer, Poshan Raj Bhandari, issued an urgent notice clarifying that according to the Election Code of Conduct 2082, no candidate is permitted to enter polling centers and engage in activities intended to influence voters. These activities have been ordered to cease immediately to maintain the secrecy and impartiality of the vote.

The administration has urged all candidates and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the code of conduct to ensure the election is conducted in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment. The administration warned that anyone violating the code of conduct will face legal action as per the law.
