Voter Turnout Reaches 96.36% at Temporary Polling Station in Baglung District Jail

Baglung. A voter turnout of 96.36 percent was recorded at the temporary polling center located in the Baglung District Jail. Out of 55 inmates and temporary voters registered at the temporary polling center established in Baglung Municipality-1, only 53 cast their ballots.

According to Dhirendra Pant, the Jail Chief and Election Officer, there were 53 inmates and two staff members registered as voters at the jail polling center. Pant informed that only 53 people participated in the voting because one inmate was released after completing his sentence and another was transferred to Kathmandu.

Pant stated that although the voting has concluded, the ballot boxes would be sent to the Chief Election Officer's office shortly. He mentioned that the ballot boxes would be handed over only after discussions with the representatives of the political parties. Across the Baglung district, there are 230 polling centers and 193,381 registered voters.
