Nepal-India Border Crossings Sealed Ahead of Federal Parliament Elections

Dhangadhi. The border crossings have been sealed for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Thursday. Nepal-India border crossings located in the Sudurpashchim Province have also been sealed.

The border crossings have been sealed from Monday midnight until the completion of voting. With the sealing of the borders, movement has been restricted except for essential service-related movements and cross-border import-export transportation, which require prior approval from the Government of Nepal and the local administration in the field.

Following the restriction on movement, the Armed Police Force (APF) deployed for border security has intensified checks and surveillance in the border areas.

The Sudurpashchim Province connects with India through Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, and Darchula districts.
