Upgrading of Prithvi Highway's Aambukhairani-Jamune Section Nears Completion

Tanahun. The upgrading work on the Aambukhairani-Jamune section of the Prithvi Highway has reached 95 percent completion. The cost of this road section, being constructed with loan assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is 6.31 billion rupees.

The eastern section covers the area from Aambukhairani to Jamune. The 41-kilometer long road section has been expanded to six lanes in the market areas. The Chinese construction company, China Communications Construction Company Limited, is carrying out the work on the eastern section of the Mugling-Pokhara road.

Chudraj Dhakal, Chief of the Project Directorate (ADB), stated that the construction has been smooth due to cooperation from all sectors. Project Director Dhakal mentioned that the Mugling-Pokhara road section is a model road in Nepal. The project has reported that the four-lane construction and painting work on the eastern section of the Mugling-Pokhara road segment is complete.

There are 56 landslides along this road section, 18 of which are special types of landslides currently under study. Work on the Mardi Bridge, which falls in the eastern section, is 80 percent complete.

The contract agreement for the road upgrading was signed with the construction company on Magh 17, 2077 BS. The upgrading of the Mugling-Pokhara road section was initiated by dividing it into two parts. –News Agency Nepal
