Vehicle Carrying Election Officials and Police Crashes in Ramechhap Ahead of By-election

Kathmandu. A vehicle carrying a polling officer and a team from the Nepal Police, heading for the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21, has met with an accident in Ramechhap.

District Police Office Ramechhap Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhol Bhatta informed that the vehicle carrying the election team met with an accident on Monday in Deurali, Ward No. 2 of Ramechhap Municipality.

He stated that initial information suggests the vehicle carrying election staff and security personnel, which was transporting election materials for booths in Ramechhap 2 and 3 from Manthali, fell off a cliff in Deurali Siruwari.

According to him, the news of the accident came while the vehicle, carrying the polling officer for the Deurali polling center and a police team for the upcoming election, was en route to Ramechhap. He added, 'A police team is currently heading to the incident site for rescue operations, so further details are yet to arrive.'
