Parsa District Sets Up Temporary Polling Stations for Upcoming Federal Elections

Parsa. The number of temporary voters in the upcoming House of Representatives election in Parsa stands at 1,090. According to the District Election Office, Parsa, two temporary polling centers have been designated in Parsa.

The Chief of the District Election Office, Parsa, Anamika Rauniyar, stated that 1,090 temporary voters, including government employees, prison inmates, and security personnel in Parsa, will be able to cast their votes for the proportional representation category of the House of Representatives. "We have arranged for employees assigned to the polling stations for the election to vote at their assigned locations," she said. "For other voters, we have arranged voting at the Birgunj Prison and the premises of the District Post Office, Parsa." The Administrator of Birgunj Prison, Baburam Regmi, informed that 35 inmates at Birgunj Prison will participate in the voting.

"Thirty-five inmates whose names are included in the voter list are voting in the proportional representation election," he said. "Arrangements have been made for voting by designating a temporary polling center within the prison premises so that inmates can also exercise their right to vote."

The Chief District Officer of Parsa, Bhola Dahal, informed that the necessary environment for a fear-free election has been created in Parsa. The Commander of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 13 Headquarters Parsa and Armed Police Superintendent Mohan Bahadur Chhetri stated that necessary preparations have been made to conduct the election in Parsa in a peaceful and fear-free environment.

There are 107 candidates in all four constituencies of the district. Among them, 46 candidates are independent. Among the independent candidates, there are seven women and 39 men. Similarly, there are 61 candidates representing political parties. Among these, there are five female candidates and 56 male candidates.
