Election Commission Imposes Restrictions on Vehicle Movement During By-Elections

Kathmandu. Targeting the House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21, the Election Commission has decided to prohibit the operation of all public and private vehicles, except for essential services, from 12 AM on Falgun 20 until 5 PM on Falgun 21.

According to the Commission, ambulances, fire trucks, hearse vans, blood transfusion services, vehicles of security agencies, and vehicles for maintenance of electricity, water, sewage, and telecommunications will be allowed to operate without hindrance during this period. Other vehicles will only be permitted to operate after obtaining a pass from the Commission.

The Commission stated that this decision was made to maintain peace, security, and order on the day of the election.
