Election Commission Confirms Ballot Papers Reached All Constituencies for Upcoming Polls

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has announced that ballot papers have reached all constituencies for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. The Commission informed that ballot papers for both proportional representation and first-past-the-post categories have arrived in all 165 constituencies.

Baburam Koirala, Printing Officer at the Commission, stated that the printing and transportation of ballot papers for the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 have been completed according to the schedule. According to him, a total of four crore eleven lakh fifty-three thousand ballot papers were printed and transported, comprising two crore eight lakh thirty thousand for the proportional representation category and two crore three lakh twenty-three thousand for the first-past-the-post category.

He further stated that all ballot papers have been safely delivered to all 165 constituencies. According to him, the Commission began the ballot paper transportation process simultaneously via air and land routes starting from Magh 29, 2082.

He provided information that ballot papers were transported to Karnali Province, Sudurpaschim Province, Koshi Province, Lumbini Province, Gandaki Province, Madhes Province, and Bagmati Province, respectively. The Commission stated that the ballot paper printing work started on Poush 22, 2082, and was completed on Falgun 5, 2082.

He said, 'Printing of ballot papers started on Poush 22, 2082, and was completed on Falgun 5, 2082, according to the Election Commission's schedule. The transportation of ballot papers began on Magh 29, 2082, via air and land routes, and the transportation work has been completed for all provinces—Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, Lumbini, Gandaki, Madhes, and Bagmati—as per the Election Commission's action plan. A total of four crore eleven lakh fifty-three thousand ballot papers, consisting of two crore eight lakh thirty thousand for proportional representation and two crore three lakh twenty-three thousand for first-past-the-post, have been transported and delivered to all 165 constituencies.'

The Commission also informed that ten lakh ninety-eight thousand two hundred sample ballot papers were printed and sent to all constituencies for voter education. The Commission had the ballot papers and sample ballot papers required for the election printed at Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra, Sano Thimi.
