Karnali Ministry Budget Reduced for Infrastructure Development

Surkhet. The budget for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development in Karnali has been reduced. For this ministry, which has been the largest and highest priority until now, a budget of 10 billion 93 million 81 thousand 10 thousand has been allocated for the upcoming financial year.

In the current financial year, 11 billion 1 million was allocated for this ministry. Finance Minister Rajiv Bikram Shah, while presenting the budget speech for the upcoming financial year, allocated budget for most of the previous projects towards infrastructure. The government has given priority to completing those projects in the coming year.

65 crore has been allocated for 14 strategic road projects and 36 crore 75 lakh for the construction of 122 new suspension bridges. To give high priority to the construction of the integrated administrative building of the province, Rs 75 crore has been allocated. 37 crore has been allocated to develop cities like Birendranagar, Narayan, and Dunai as 'Smart Cities'.

Earthquake Reconstruction and Housing: More than Rs 34 crore will be spent on post-earthquake reconstruction and impoverished housing programs in Jajarkot and Rukum West.
