Rautahat District Bans Alcohol Sales and Consumption Ahead of Upcoming By-Election

Rautahat. Targeting the upcoming House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21, the sale, distribution, and public consumption of alcohol have been completely prohibited in Rautahat district.

The District Administration Office, Rautahat, issued the order with the objective of conducting the election in a clean, fair, and fear-free peaceful environment. According to the notice issued by CDO Dinesh Sagar Bhusal on Wednesday, the sale and distribution of all types of alcoholic beverages and their consumption in public places across the district are prohibited from Falgun 18 until the election is concluded.

The notice warned that strict action would be taken according to prevailing laws if the prohibition order is violated by selling, distributing, or consuming alcohol. The administration also stated that security agencies would conduct strict monitoring.

The notice from the District Administration Office mentioned that full cooperation is expected from hotel operators, political parties, civil society, and the general public for this step taken to maintain public peace, security, and social harmony during the election period.
