Third Temporary Police Officer Dies in Baitadi Amid Election Security Duties

Baitadi. An additional temporary (Myadi) police officer recruited for security for the upcoming elections has died. The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Rajendra Prasad Bhatta from Hataranga, Melali Municipality-6, Baitadi.

According to District Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Suraj Singh, Bhatta, who was working at the Area Police Office, Melali, returned home late last night after finishing his 'duty,' but suddenly collapsed at home. After collapsing, he was taken to the Kesharpur Primary Health Center for treatment, where doctors declared him dead late last night upon arrival. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.

Previously, on Falgun 8, 38-year-old election police Mahadev Wad, a resident of Babeta, Dasharathchand Municipality-4, also lost his life. Mahadev, who was found unconscious while returning home to eat, was declared dead by doctors after being taken to the District Hospital for treatment. Similarly, in the third week of Magh, 32-year-old election police Prakash Chand, a resident of Dasharathchand Municipality-4, died after falling from a cliff.
