Partial Western Wind Influence Causes Weather Fluctuations Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The weather across various parts of the country is showing changes due to the partial influence of the Western wind currently prevailing in Nepal's atmosphere.  

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, dense fog is present in most parts of the Terai region at this time, while there is generally cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Although partial clouds are visible in the higher elevations of Bagmati and Lumbini provinces, the weather in other areas remains generally clear. Light rain and snowfall are currently occurring in a few limited places in the hilly and mountainous regions, leading to an increased perception of cold in those areas.  

According to Monday's forecast, there is a possibility of fog in the morning in the districts of the Terai, which may cause some impact on daily life and transportation. While indications suggest cloudy weather throughout the day in the Himalayan regions of the country, the weather in the Terai region is expected to clear up by the afternoon. Meteorologists have advised caution for those undertaking mountaineering and high-altitude travel, as the possibility of light snowfall and rain remains in one or two places in the high Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
