Kaski Candidates Intensify Campaigning with Development Pledges Ahead of Elections

As the election date approaches, candidates in Kaski have intensified their door-to-door campaigning, focusing on development commitments. During voter outreach, candidates have expressed commitments on prosperity, development, and the issue of good governance raised by the new generation.

In Kaski Constituency No. 1, CPN-UML candidate for the House of Representatives, Baina Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri, stated that due to the lack of a large hall or convention center in Pokhara, the tourism capital, events often have to be held in open fields if participation is high. He pledged to initiate the construction of an international convention center in Pokhara if elected. Meeting voters in Pokhara Metropolitan City-26 on Sunday, he announced that the international convention center would be built in Silinge.

Candidate Adhikari mentioned that since he understands the development stages, current problems concerning roads, schools, health, and irrigation in this constituency, it will be easier to work. He stated his focus would be on the infrastructure development and upgrading of schools, and resolving water supply issues. He also said he would strive to establish an industrial village for the industrial development of Pokhara.

Ganesh Paudel, the Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate for Kaski Constituency No. 1, met voters with his election manifesto. He stated that education, health, tourism, agriculture, industry-employment, land rights, good governance, and infrastructure development are his priorities. His manifesto includes ensuring the interests of all through a school education act, establishing libraries in every ward, and developing model schools accessible to every municipality or 10,000 students. In terms of health, commitments were made to provide basic health services free of charge from all health institutions, ensure everyone's enrollment in health insurance, and promote the 'Healthy Nepal' campaign. Adhikari also outlined plans to provide facilities similar to industry status to the tourism sector, enact a trekking route protection act, and develop an 'Eco-Tourism Circuit' connecting the major lakes and tourist destinations of Kaski.

Tilak Ranabhat, the Nepali Congress candidate for Kaski Constituency No. 1, stated that local development issues, along with prosperity and development, are his priorities. While meeting and collecting suggestions from various neighborhoods and women's groups in Pokhara Metropolitan City-29 as part of his campaign, he expressed confidence that he would work to complete the construction of the Lekhnath Stadium. He committed that if elected, his first proposal would be to construct a stadium with full gallery seating capable of hosting international-level sports at the Lekhnath Stadium.

Similarly, Madhav Prasad Bastola, the Nepali Congress candidate for Kaski Constituency No. 2, while meeting voters in areas like Pokhara-17 Dobilla, stated that his candidacy is for prosperity and development alongside the issue of good governance raised by the new generation.

In Kaski-2, CPN-UML candidate Rashmi Acharya pledged to lead efforts in creating effective legislation for managing monkeys, which is a national problem. While meeting voters in Pokhara-21 Nirmalpokhari, she noted that she was concerned about incidents where monkeys destroy the produce of farmers nationwide and attack locals in some areas.
