Police Rescue 7-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped in Saptari, Arrest Suspect Demanding Ransom

Rajbiraj. Police successfully rescued 7-year-old girl Neha Khatun, who was abducted from Bishanpur, Khadak Municipality-8, Saptari, on Tuesday evening, on Thursday. A team from the District Police Office Saptari and the Area Police Office Kalyanpur rescued the girl while apprehending the abductor.

Police arrested 30-year-old Imtiaz Ahmed from Lalpatti Tole, Khadak Municipality-9, at the Khando River in Rupni Rural Municipality-1. The abductor, Ahmed, had called the girl's father, Imran Khan, demanding one crore rupees in cash and five kilograms of gold as ransom for his daughter's release.

District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Dambar Bahadur Puri informed that police surrounded and apprehended Ahmed at the Khando River when he had called Khan there to hand over the ransom money and gold. The investigation began after the family filed a complaint with the police following the girl's disappearance from home on Tuesday.

Police stated that further investigation is underway after the Saptari District Court granted a seven-day remand for the arrested Ahmed in cases related to kidnapping, illegal confinement, and human trafficking and smuggling.
