Injured Election Police Officer Airlifted from Jumla Jeep Crash Site to Nepalgunj

Jumla. An election police officer, seriously injured in a jeep accident in Dhaulapani, Tatopani Rural Municipality-6, Jumla on Thursday, has been rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter and transported to Nepalgunj.

Dharmendra Rokaya, 21, from Hima Rural Municipality-2, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Nepalgunj by helicopter, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Babu Regmi of the District Police Office. Similarly, Ratna Shahi, 70, from Gutichaur-4, who was undergoing treatment at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, was also taken to Nepalgunj by the same helicopter for further treatment.

The jeep, bearing registration number Ve 1 Ja 818, met with an accident while traveling from the district headquarters Khalanga Bazaar towards Nagma Bazaar in Kalikot. Seven people were injured in the accident. According to DSP Regmi, the other injured individuals—Menuka Budha, 35, from Tila Rural Municipality-1; Maya Nepali, 21, from Patarasi Rural Municipality-4; Paras Rawat, 21, from Tila-2; Kuni Sunar, 48, from Tatopani-3; jeep driver Lokesh Khadka from Tatopani-2; and election police Tekendra Rawat from Tila-2—are currently receiving treatment at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
