Husband Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife in Mustang, Nepal

Mustang. Police have stated that Shanti Gurung, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her rented residence in Marpha, Gharpa-jhong-2, Mustang, having permanently resided in Uttarganga Rural Municipality-5, Rasuwa District, was murdered by her own husband.

During the preliminary investigation, police took 23-year-old Ashwin Thapamagar, Shanti's husband, into custody for questioning. In a statement released today, police reported that during the investigation, the husband allegedly struck his wife on the head with a piece of firewood while intoxicated following a domestic dispute around 2 PM on Monday, resulting in her death at the scene.

District Police Information Officer Navaraj Neupane informed that Thapamagar, arrested on charges of murder, has been remanded for 10 days by the District Court today to begin further investigation.
