Rastriya Swatantra Party's DP Aryal Unveils Election Manifesto for Kathmandu-9

Kathmandu. Dol Prasad Aryal (DP), Deputy Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and candidate for the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency No. 9, has unveiled his election manifesto. Aryal publicly released the manifesto on Tuesday under the main pledge, "Your Single Vote, The Essence of Trust, The Foundation for Prosperity in Kathmandu Constituency No. 9."

Aryal's manifesto encompasses comprehensive development and good governance issues. Controlling corruption and good governance have been given the top priority in the manifesto. He committed to adopting a zero-tolerance policy for eradicating corruption and forming vigilance teams, including citizen leaders, in every ward.

Aryal mentioned conducting monthly sector-specific public hearings for public services and initiating solutions for public grievances and problems within a maximum of one week to 30 days, depending on the nature of the issue.

In terms of physical development and infrastructure, Aryal pledged to develop the area from Kalanki via Satungal to Nagdhunga and Sitapaila to Bhimdhunga as a 'Green Corridor' and to systematize the distribution of Melamchi drinking water.

Furthermore, his resolution is to create a clean city through scientific solutions for traffic jams, strict implementation of the 'No Horn' policy, and control of dust and smoke. The manifesto also includes pledges to coordinate on roads, bridges, drainage systems, and waste management, as well as environmental protection, landslide mitigation, flood control, greening and beautification of riverbanks, and protection and management of Guthi land.

Improving education and health sectors, Aryal put forward a plan to initiate efforts to ensure minimum 24-hour health services in all wards, provide free health services for senior citizens, the disabled, and underprivileged children, and establish trauma centers in local hospitals.

Additionally, commitments were made to digitally archive Newa culture, history, and heritage, establish culture promotion centers, and manage concessions based on modern green rating and originality rating for building map approvals.

The manifesto includes plans to create self-employment and income generation opportunities through the development of agriculture and eco-tourism, and to implement 'Tourist Shuttle Bus' and 'Night Liner' services to integrate the viewing of archaeological heritage and culture.

For job creation, the manifesto states a policy to establish vocational training centers and appoint youth returning from foreign employment as trainers. He also pledged to implement a policy arrangement for completing work in three shifts.

Moreover, his commitment includes arranging for the distribution of legal land ownership certificates to communities lacking them, initiating efforts through the Federal Parliament for the policy-based distribution of compensation that was not provided during road upgrades, and seeking alternatives for the fair distribution and management of compensation and damages for locals affected by high-tension power lines for hydropower.

He has also included issues of inclusion, development, youth and sports, and security in the manifesto. Aryal stated that he would strive to make Kathmandu Constituency No. 9 a model constituency in the country by utilizing the experience gained while serving as the Labor Minister in the past, and he appealed to the voters to vote for the 'Bell' symbol in the upcoming election.
