Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Scooter in Nawalparasi, Nepal

Nawalpur. A pedestrian has died after being hit by a scooter in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapurba). The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old local resident Lakhan Tamang, who was struck by a scooter bearing registration number Province 3-02-014 Pa 1443 on Sangam Marg in Gaindakot Municipality-8 last night.

Police stated that Tamang, who was injured after being hit by the scooter last night, died this morning while undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

According to Anil Pandit, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapurba), police have taken the scooter driver, 26-year-old Pravin Thapa Magar of Karanghari, Gaindakot-8, who was involved in the accident, into custody and have initiated necessary investigations.
