People's Socialist Party Nepal Unveils Election Manifesto Reiterating Old Promises

Kathmandu. The People's Socialist Party Nepal (JSPN) unveiled its manifesto for the House of Representatives elections on Friday.

JSPN, which has fielded 94 candidates for direct elections across the country, had previously released a commitment paper. Yesterday, it issued the manifesto. The manifesto does not contain any new points from the party; it reiterates its old agendas and commitments.

JSPN has promised everything from constitutional amendment to creating 5 million jobs. The party has stated it will provide free health and education to all citizens. It has also assured free tickets and free visas for those going for foreign employment.

Here are the 15 assurances mentioned in the JSPN manifesto:

1. A high-level constitutional review commission comprising constitutional experts will be formed.
2. Free health services will be provided to all citizens.
3. Free health services will be provided to all citizens.
4. An advanced study and research center based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be established in every province. 
5. Free legal aid will be provided for all citizens.
6. Nepal will be gradually transformed into a cashless transaction country.
7. The assets of elected representatives, prime ministers, ministers, high-ranking officials, high-ranking security officials, and officials in constitutional commissions since 2047 BS until now will be investigated. 
8. A policy of providing free employment (free visa and free ticket) for migrant workers going abroad will be implemented. 
9. The impractical Land Bill will be repealed, and a new scientific land-use law will be enacted.
10. A scientific land consolidation program will be implemented.
11. 5 million jobs will be created within the next 5 years through the promotion of vertical farming.
12. The population living below the poverty line will be brought down to 10 percent within the next 5 years.
13. The literacy rate will be increased to 90 percent within the next 5 years.  
14. The Postal Highway project will be completed within the next 5 years.
15. The Kathmandu-Nijgadh Expressway will be brought into operation within the next 2 years.
