US Military Concludes Attacks on Iran; Iran Retaliates

Tehran. The US military has said that the latest series of attacks on Iran has ended for now. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has stated that it has 'completed the new phase of aggressive attacks' on Iran.

CENTCOM said that this step was taken to stop Iran's attacks on the movement of international ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The statement mentioned that 'precise weapons were fired at dozens of targets in various locations' for this purpose.

CENTCOM stated that it targeted Iran's 'air defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats'. US fighter jets, naval ships, one-way attack aerial drones, and for the first time, maritime drones were used in the attack.

Shortly before the US military announced the end of the attacks, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported that at least two powerful explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan province, southern Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has started retaliating against the US attacks. As the first phase, the IRGC launched missile and drone attacks on the Prince Hassan airbase in Jordan. It is reported that the fuel storage and weapons depots located there caught fire due to this attack.

The US had attacked Iranian coastal military bases after the Iranian navy stopped two ships for allegedly traveling illegally by shutting down the tracking system in the Hormuz waterway. Iran claims that the attack on Jordan was in response to the US action.

Similarly, the IRGC has claimed to have targeted various structures at the Sheikh Isa airbase in Bahrain as the second phase of its counter-attack. Issuing a statement, the IRGC stated that its aerospace force had struck the helicopter maintenance center, the hangar where P-8 aircraft are kept, and the US military's drone command and control center. Iran has clarified that such attacks were carried out in response to the US's continuous military actions against Iran, and this process will continue.

Iran's Nour News Agency also reported that the Iranian army and IRGC have started large-scale missile and drone attacks on 'bases of regional enemies'.

Quoting an Iranian military official, Nour News mentioned that actions have been taken targeting locations where 'enemy activities' were identified in the last 48 hours.
