Veteran Actor Prakash Raj Joins 'Drishyam 3' Cast, Clarifies He Is Not Replacing Anyone

Mumbai. Veteran South Indian actor Prakash Raj has been added to the cast of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn's highly anticipated film 'Drishyam 3'. He announced via social media that filming for the Hindi version of this popular franchise has already begun.

Following reports some time ago that Akshaye Khanna, who played a significant role in 'Drishyam 2', had exited the film, various speculations arose regarding Prakash Raj's entry.

Clarifying his involvement in the film, Prakash Raj asserted that he is not replacing anyone. He wrote on Instagram, "Yes, I am not replacing anyone."

According to film sources, a special new character has been created for Prakash Raj that suits him for the third installment. He described the film as an attractive franchise and expressed happiness at being associated with an excellent team and powerful characters.

Fans were somewhat disappointed after Akshaye Khanna, who won hearts with his stellar performance in 'Drishyam 2', left the project. However, the original main cast will remain intact in this third installment directed by Abhishek Pathak.

Ajay Devgn will once again play the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, and the film will feature Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, and Mrinal Jadhav. The screenplay for the film has been prepared by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Parvez Shaikh.

'Drishyam 3' is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 2, 2026. Fans of the film often remember the date October 2 as 'Drishyam Day' because the story of the film revolves around this date.

Meanwhile, the Malayalam version of 'Drishyam 3', starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, is expected to release on April 2.
