Actor Prakash Raj Granted Bail in Voter ID Case

Hyderabad. Popular actor Prakash Raj has received relief from the court in the case of possessing more than one voter ID card. The actor was accused of possessing not just one or two, but four voter ID cards. 

In this regard, the 48th ACJM court in Bangalore granted him bail on Friday. The court set a condition for bail, ordering the actor to deposit a cash surety of Rs 4,000.

Earlier, the court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Immediately after the warrant was issued, his lawyer filed an application in the court to withdraw the warrant. As Prakash Raj himself appeared in court on Friday, the judge cancelled the old warrant. He was granted bail after fulfilling the bail conditions.

Prakash Raj, who expresses his open views on social and political issues, has a long-standing association with controversies. He is an accomplished actor, director, producer, and TV host. He has acted in films in various languages. After starting his acting journey from theatre and working on TV, he gained real recognition with the 1994 Tamil film 'Duet'. 

As this film was close to his heart, he named his production company 'Duet Movies'. He has won the National Award 5 times for his excellent acting in the film industry.

Initially known for his villainous roles, Prakash Raj is now excelling in excellent character roles. He received National Awards for Mani Ratnam's 'Iruvar' and Priyadarshan's 'Kanchivaram'. 

He has also shown his strong presence as a producer. He also won a National Award for the Kannada film 'Puttakkana Highway'. He has hosted the popular TV show 'Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi' (Tamil version of KBC). 

Fans will see him in the upcoming films 'Drishyam 3', 'Varanasi', action drama 'Spirit', and 'Golmaal 5'.
