Election Commission Directs Candidates for Upcoming By-Election to Submit Manifestos by February 16

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has called upon all candidates under the First-Past-the-Post electoral system for the upcoming House of Representatives by-election scheduled for Falgun 21 to submit their documents to the respective Election Officer's office by Falgun 3.

In accordance with Article 37 of the Election Code of Conduct, 2082, Branch Officer (Law) Arun Adhikari has sent a letter to all candidates under the direct election system, requesting them to publicly release their election manifesto by Falgun 3 and submit one copy to the respective Election Officer's office, as per the Commission's decision on Magh 27.

The Commission has also written to all Provincial/District Election Offices to keep a record of the received manifestos and send the details to the Commission. The letter also mentions that the respective Election Officer's offices have been called upon to be informed.

The Commission had previously written to all political parties to publicly release their party's election manifesto by Falgun 3.
