CPN-UML Chairman Prachanda Pledges Road Development and Facilities for Myagdi District

Myagdi. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML), has committed to developing the road connecting Myagdi's Beni to Rukum via Dhorpatan as an alternative route to the Mid-Hill Highway.

Addressing a training program organized by the CPN-UML on Wednesday, targeting the upcoming House of Representatives elections, he also pledged to implement the facilities designated for a Himalayan district in Myagdi, which was listed as such six years ago.

"The road connecting Beni to Darbang-Takum-Muna-Jaljala-Dhorpatan to Rukum is 65-70 kilometers shorter compared to the Baglung section of the Mid-Hill Highway, so it will be my priority, especially as a candidate from Eastern Rukum," he stated. "I want to assure you that I will take the initiative to implement the standards for a Himalayan district in Myagdi, which was listed as a Himalayan district six years ago."

Stating that elections are being held in Nepal under difficult circumstances, Dahal urged the cadres not to take the upcoming elections lightly. Stating that the CPN-UML prioritizes issues of political stability, good governance, social justice, development, and employment, the former Prime Minister urged everyone to be clear that there would be no alliance or cooperation with any political party before this election.

"Let there be no ripples or confusion in the party ranks due to meetings held with leaders of rival parties on various occasions," he said. "We are working hard to achieve positive results by fighting on our own strength in this election." Dahal stated that he would provide political direction to the country, emphasizing stability, good governance, and development according to the people's wishes.

Stating that the CPN-UML's policy is to move forward by maintaining equal distance and balance with everyone while demonstrating good political culture, Dahal mentioned that in the upcoming elections, more emphasis would be placed on meeting voters and using social media rather than large rallies and formal programs.

Arjun Thapa, the CPN-UML candidate for the House of Representatives in Myagdi, stated that the plan is to develop and enrich Myagdi through the potential of agriculture, tourism, and hydropower, based on physical infrastructure.

"I have come forward as a candidate to increase Myagdi's reach in central politics and to address the feelings, demands, and needs of the people of Myagdi in policy, rules, budget, and planning," he said. "Our plan is to make Myagdi prosperous and developed through infrastructure, hydropower, tourism, and agriculture."

CPN-UML leader Govinda Paudel informed that they have started election campaigning by conducting door-to-door visits in all six local levels and 45 wards of Myagdi. He had drawn Chairman Dahal's attention to the development issues of Myagdi.
