Government Revises Budget Expenditure Estimates Downward for Current Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. The government has revised the estimated budget expenditure for the current fiscal year. While conducting the mid-year budget review, the Ministry of Finance estimated that expenditure will decrease by 14.04 percent from the size mentioned in the budget.

The government had presented a budget amounting to NPR 19 Kharba 64 Arba 11 Crore on Jestha 15. Of this, NPR 11 Kharba 80 Arba 98 Crore was allocated for recurrent expenditure, NPR 4 Kharba 7 Arba 89 Crore for capital expenditure, and NPR 3 Kharba 75 Arba 24 Crore for financial management.

According to the revised budget, the estimated expenditure is NPR 11 Kharba 25 Arba 97 Crore for recurrent expenditure, NPR 2 Kharba 43 Arba 30 Crore for capital expenditure, and NPR 3 Kharba 19 Arba 04 Crore for financial management, which represents 95.34 percent, 59.65 percent, and 85.02 percent, respectively, compared to the initial budget.
