Nepal Communist Party Seeks Clarification from Karnali Province Assembly Member Rajkumar Sharma

Kathmandu. The Nepal Communist Party has sought clarification from Karnali Province Assembly member Rajkumar Sharma. Sharma is accused of actively engaging in activities contrary to the party's policy, ideology, principles, and philosophy.

‘It has been confirmed through various social media platforms that for some time now, you have been actively involved in activities contrary to the policy, ideology, principles, and philosophy of the party you belong to, the Nepal Communist Party, and have continuously acted against the party's interests by joining other parties. As a central member of this political party, the Nepal Communist Party, and a representative in the Karnali Province Assembly from this party, you have not fulfilled the responsibilities required, thus knowingly violating the discipline stipulated by Article 105 (a) (b) (d) (e) of the statute of this political party, the Nepal Communist Party,’ the clarification letter stated.

Since you have failed to adhere to the duties and responsibilities stipulated by Article 9 of the Karnali Province Parliamentary Party Statute 2082, as a member of the Karnali Province Parliamentary Party, why should action not be taken to expel you from party membership itself as per Article 106 (1) (a) read with Article 106 (2) of the statute of this Nepal Communist Party?’ It further directed him to submit the clarification within 24 hours of receiving the clarification letter.

The letter stated, ‘Why should you not be removed from the membership of the parliamentary party as per Article 11 (4) (5) of the Parliamentary Party Statute? Submit your clarification within 24 hours of receiving this clarification letter. Otherwise, you are hereby informed and notified that action will be taken against you as per the statute of this Nepal Communist Party and the statute of the Nepal Communist Party Karnali Province Assembly Parliamentary Party 2082.’

The clarification letter was signed by NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Co-Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal. Sharma, a former Chief Minister of Karnali, resigned from his position as the leader of the parliamentary party a few days ago. Recently, he has been active in the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, led by Janardan Sharma.
