UN Secretary-General Condemns Attack on Mosque in Islamabad

Kathmandu. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday expressed deep concern and condemned the attack on a mosque in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. In a statement issued by his Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq, the Secretary-General extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

The Secretary-General reiterated that targeted attacks against civilians and places of worship are unacceptable and emphasized the need to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Similarly, the Secretary-General also wished a speedy and full recovery for the injured individuals. The statement also mentioned that the UN stands in solidarity and support with the government and people of Pakistan in their efforts against terrorism and violent extremism.
