Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava Returns After Medical Treatment in India

Kathmandu. The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, has returned to Nepal after receiving medical treatment. He suddenly fell unconscious while hiking at Champadevi in Kathmandu on December 12 (Mangsir 27).

On the same day, he was rescued by Nepali security personnel and admitted to Grande International Hospital via helicopter. He was discharged from there on December 20 (Poush 4).

After resting at the Indian House for a few days, he went to India for further treatment in the second week of Poush. He has returned to Nepal after a long treatment period of about one and a half months.

He was appointed as the Ambassador to Nepal in June 2022 (Jestha 2079). His three-year tenure has already been completed. However, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has regularized Naveen until a new arrangement is made.

Ambassador Srivastava's desire is to return to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and assume the post of Secretary, but he remains in Nepal because a new ambassador has not been appointed.
