Cyclist Dies in Jhapa After Being Hit by Tipper

Jhapa. A cyclist has died in Gauradaha, Jhapa, after being hit by a tipper. According to District Traffic Police Office Inspector Santosh Rai, the accident occurred last night at the Navadurga Petrol Pump located on the Gauradaha Municipality-1, Padajungi-Gauriganj internal road section.

Police stated that the tipper, with registration number Province1-01-001Kha 1188, which was heading from Dipu Chowk towards the petrol pump, hit cyclist Prem Prasad Guragain, 61, a resident of Gauradaha-4.

Guragain, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Damak Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. Traffic police have taken into custody the tipper driver, Umesh Tajpuria, 35, a resident of Gauradaha Municipality-1, who was involved in the accident.
