Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa Expresses Grief Over Fatal Bus Accident in Baitadi

Kathmandu, February 6: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has expressed sorrow over the bus accident in Purchauli Municipality, Baitadi, which claimed the lives of 13 people. Issuing a press statement today, President Thapa stated that the news of the accident has deeply saddened him.

He offered heartfelt condolences to the deceased during this painful time, praying for the eternal peace of their souls, and extended deep sympathy on behalf of the party and himself to the bereaved families.

President Thapa also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and urged the government to arrange for appropriate medical treatment.

The bus carrying wedding attendees met with an accident on Thursday. The bus, registration number Sup Pra 02001 Kha 1119, which was traveling from Bhavane in Purchauli Municipality-7 towards Bajhang, met with an accident at Badgaon Mode in Purchauli-7. Eight people died on the spot, and five others died at Dadeldhura Hospital. Thirty-four others were injured in the accident. The injured are currently receiving treatment in Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, and Bajhang.
