Nepali Congress Leaders to Tour All Seven Provinces Ahead of Election Campaigning Deadline

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa and Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma are scheduled to visit all seven provinces before the February 17 (Falgun 4) deadline set by the Election Commission for campaigning for the House of Representatives elections.

Vice President Pushpa Bhusal informed that President Thapa and Vice President Sharma will visit all seven provinces by Falgun 4 to hold discussions with district presidents, party candidates, and leaders and workers within the provinces.

Vice President Sharma is the coordinator of the Election Mobilization Committee. “They are going to all seven provinces by Falgun 4 to communicate with the district presidents, candidates, and leaders and workers within the provinces and to assess the party's situation,” Vice President Bhusal told Ratopati. “This process has started from Madhes Province. A program to visit Gandaki Province on Friday has already been scheduled.”

President Thapa, who is a candidate for the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-4 in Madhes Province, had arrived in Madhes on Magh 12. He returned to Kathmandu on Magh 17. During his stay in Madhes, President Thapa interacted with party presidents of districts falling within the province, party candidates from 32 constituencies, and leaders and workers.

“The President recently sat down with the leadership and candidates from all eight districts in Madhes Province to discuss election preparations. The President is going to Pokhara tomorrow to discuss the party's situation in Gandaki Province,” Vice President Bhusal said. She added that he would interact with party candidates, district presidents, and leaders and workers in Pokhara.
