CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet Claims Victory in at Least 10 Kathmandu Seats in Upcoming Elections

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has claimed that the UML will win at least 10 seats in the Kathmandu Valley in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a dialogue program organized by Press Chautari Nepal, he stated that although they prepared to win all seats in the valley, he is claiming 10 seats.

He mentioned that in the previous election, they were reduced to only two seats due to the five-party alliance and the craze for independent candidates. He claimed that this time, voters have concluded that the UML is the right choice.

He also stated that the residents of the valley are conscious, educated, and politically mature. Secretary Basnet objected to some itinerant candidates leveling allegations of vote-buying, stating that the valley is home to the country's most intellectual and educated class.

According to him, the vote in the valley is volatile. Mentioning that even a small incident can change the vote here, he noted that the atmosphere is currently in favor of the UML this time.
