Lumbini Province Chief Minister Affirms Commitment to Self-Reliance and Accountability

Rupandehi. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has clarified that the provincial government is moving forward with determination towards making the province self-reliant, effective, and accountable to the public. Chief Minister Acharya informed that since the formation of the provincial government, necessary acts, laws, and policy arrangements have been formulated for the effective implementation of the exclusive and concurrent rights granted to the province by the constitution.

In a congratulatory message issued today on the occasion of the Province Establishment Day, Chief Minister Acharya mentioned that the legal and policy framework established by the provincial government has strengthened the implementation capacity of the provincial government.

The congratulatory message stated that the success of federalism and its practical application has been demonstrated from Lumbini Province. He also stated that Lumbini Province has succeeded in sending a message across the country regarding the success of federalism.

According to him, the provincial government has been prioritizing balanced development in social and economic sectors, including policy reform, physical infrastructure development, education, health, employment, tourism, and agriculture, so that the rationale of federalism is visible in practice. Chief Minister Acharya stated that the provincial government has been playing an active role, drawing the attention of the federal government to the full observance and protection of the constitution. He stated that Lumbini Province remains clear and firm for respecting the federal structure, practical implementation of rights, and ensuring resources.

The Chief Minister stated that good governance, transparency, and the eradication of corruption have been made the fundamental basis of performance since the provincial government was established. He said that work is underway to improve service delivery, ensure transparency in decision-making, and strengthen public accountability. Chief Minister Acharya mentioned that it has become imperative to institutionalize political federalism as administrative and financial federalism. His commitment is that the government will move forward with even greater determination in the direction of making the province self-reliant, effective, and accountable by implementing the strengthening and rationale of federalism in practice.
