Boxing 'Fight Night 2026' Set for Dharan on Magh 23 to Promote Sport

Sunsari. To promote the sport and produce new players, the boxing 'Fight Night 2026' competition is scheduled to be held in Dharan on Magh 23.

The second edition of the boxing 'Fight Night' competition is being organized by the Dharan Boxing Association at the Chumlung Hall of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung in Dharan-15. Organizers stated that the competition, starting at 4 PM, will also include musical and cultural programs.

Mahesh Ale Magar, Secretary of the Dharan Boxing Association, stated that the association was established in 2081 with the objective of developing, expanding, and promoting boxing in Dharan, and making the youth disciplined, active, and socially responsible through sports.

Players will compete in two categories in the competition: Professional and Amateur. Players from Koshi Province, including Dharan, Dhankuta, Armed Police Force (APF), and Nepal Police Club, will participate in the Professional competition. Players from Kathmandu and Makwanpur will participate from Bagmati Province. Secretary Magar informed that players from Dharan, Dhankuta, Udayapur, and Jhapa will participate in the Amateur category.

The winner of the Professional category in the competition will receive a cash prize of NPR 50,000 along with a medal and certificate, while the runner-up will receive a cash prize of NPR 25,000 and a certificate. In the Amateur category, the winner will receive a cash prize of NPR 10,000, a medal, and a certificate, and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of NPR 5,000 and a certificate. Furthermore, insurance coverage of NPR 5 lakh will be provided for each player, Magar added.
