PM Karki Indicates Possibility of Second Phase Elections in Himalayan Districts Due to Weather

Nawalparasi. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that if the weather does not permit, the second phase of elections will be held in the Himalayan districts.

After participating in the National Service Corps training completion program at Hathikhor, Kawasoti Municipality-1, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Prime Minister Karki told reporters, "The government will provide necessary support for the elections; specifically, if the weather is not favorable in the Himalayan districts, we will hold the elections in the second phase."

Stating that elections will be completed even by using vehicles to transport voters in areas with low voter turnout, Prime Minister Karki mentioned that if a situation arises where it is completely impossible, they might consider holding the elections in the second phase. She urged everyone to focus on the upcoming elections on Falgun 21 without worry, as the issue of postponing the elections for any reason has not yet arisen. Prime Minister Karki expressed confidence that the newly elected representatives will take charge of the state system and move the country in a new direction by completing the elections on time.

"We have made a hundred percent effort to ensure the elections are completed peacefully; the elections will be held in a fear-free environment," she said.

Prime Minister Karki stated that since these elections are being held under special circumstances, the government will resolve any challenges that arise and conduct the elections.
