750 Electric Vehicles Seized at Nepal-China Border

Kathmandu. 750 electric vehicles that entered through the Nepal-China border crossing Korala have been taken under control by the Armed Police. An high-ranking official of the Armed Police Force told Ratopati that those vehicles were taken under control from the road from Mustang to Kaski.

It is said that those vehicles entered Nepal before the budget statement was made public. The armed police took those vehicles under control in coordination with the Nepal Police after receiving information that the vehicles were being taken to various districts.

The seized vehicles are without number plates. The official said that the documents of those vehicles, which were taken under control on suspicion, will be checked in coordination with the customs. He said, 'We will look at the documents, if no error is seen, we will return them, if an error is seen, it will be as per the law from the customs office.'

It is suspected that those vehicles were imported after the information about the change in tax rates in the budget statement was leaked. The armed police have held those vehicles in places like Kaski and Parbat. A high-ranking armed police official says, 'There are electric vehicles including BYD.'
