Washington D.C. | US President Donald Trump has stated that representatives of his administration are in talks with the Iranian government. He expressed hope that these discussions would yield results.

However, in the meantime, he also issued a threat to Iran. 'We are currently in discussions with Iran, but I hope it yields a positive result, because if it doesn't, something bad could happen,' Trump said in a statement.

This statement comes amid growing speculation that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will have a direct meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, in the coming days. According to Reuters, Steve Witkoff is currently in Israel.

He met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This news increases the possibility that the meeting could be related to the talks between Iran and the United States.
