The latest documents include an email mentioning Adams' mother and the renowned film director Mira Nair.

Protesters gathered outside the Mayor's official residence, Gracie Mansion, accusing him of betrayal despite their prior support. Demonstrators chanted, "We voted for you, we spoke up for you... but you lied to us."

What is the case?

This controversy stems from an email sent on October 21, 2009, by U.S. publicist Peggy Siegal. The email references a party following a film screening held at the townhouse of convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell.

According to the email, several high-profile individuals attended the event, including Bill Clinton, Jeff Bezos, Jean Pigozzi, and director Mira Nair. While the film's name is not specified in the email, it is speculated to be Mira Nair's film *Amelia*, starring Hilary Swank and Richard Gere.

Last Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice released a massive set of records related to Epstein. These documents were made public under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law signed by President Donald Trump on November 19, 2025.

The new documents comprise over 3 million pages, more than 2,000 videos, and approximately 180,000 photographs. These records were compiled from various sources, including cases in Florida and New York, the lawsuit against Maxwell, the investigation into Epstein's death, and inquiries conducted by the FBI and the Inspector General.

Adams' Political Journey

The 34-year-old Eric Adams assumed the office of Mayor of New York City on January 1. He defeated former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in the election. He is the city's youngest mayor and its first Muslim mayor. Adams ran for office after Eric Adams withdrew from the race in September. Adams ran in his place.
