Biplav Accuses Prachanda of Lying About Communist Unity Efforts

Kathmandu. Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav', the General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist), has stated that Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal, lied regarding unity efforts. Speaking at a polarization program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, he accused Prachanda of lying by claiming that Biplav's faction did not join the unity talks.

Biplav also accused Prachanda of deviating from revolutionary sentiment in his call for unity and polarization. 'The rumor that Biplav did not join the unity is false. The unity and polarization called for by Prachanda have fled from the revolutionary essence and spirit. It is not like a party. It is not even like a front,' he said. 'A central committee of 2500/3000 members is an insult to communism. It is a disgrace and a defamation. Does a communist party become right just because there are many people? Are people in favor of gathering crowds by showing greed and temptation?'

He alleged that an ugly picture has emerged in the CPN because it could not sustain the ideology and history it developed itself. Biplav accused Prachanda today of being on the path to dissolving the Maoist movement.

'We truly desire unity. We desire strong unity. There is no trust in such a scoundrel,' he said.
