Home Ministry Warns of Action Against Tampering with Police Character Certificates

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has clarified that action will be taken against anyone who tampers with or makes additions/alterations to police character certificates.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Ministry stated that action will be taken if it is found that certificates have been issued contrary to the National Crime Record Management and Police Character Certificate Distribution Directive, 2080. The Ministry noted that since details of illegal acts or omissions contrary to the law will also be mentioned in the character certificate issued by the Nepal Police, this will directly affect individuals when traveling abroad for study, visits, or employment.

The Ministry clarified that individuals should refrain from engaging in such criminal activities, conduct business only in accordance with existing legal provisions, methods, and procedures, and be aware that failure to do so may adversely affect the concerned individual in the future.
