Theft of Valuables Worth Nearly NPR 1.9 Million Reported in Jhapa, Nepal

Jhapa.  Jewelry and cash worth approximately 1.9 million Nepali Rupees were stolen from a house in Panchakanya Plotting, Birtamod Municipality-1, Jhapa, last night. Thieves targeted the home of local resident Punam Devi Sah, making off with various gold and silver ornaments along with cash.

Initial reports indicate that the thieves fled after stealing the valuables during the night. The victimized family reported the incident to the police only after discovering the theft this morning.  

A police team arrived at the scene immediately after the incident, prepared the inventory report, and initiated an investigation. Police stated that efforts are being intensified to track down the individuals involved in the theft, who are currently at large.
